NPH, I love you

Apologies to Lil Sis, who apparently was counting on me to do an Emmy recap since she could not watch it. Here's the highlights (for me at least):

Neil Patrick Harris Sings!


The show was divided into separate genres, so all of the comedy awards were handed out (except Best Comedy which was left until the end), then reality, then miniseries/movie, then variety, then drama. I guess I assumed that they always did this, but Neil (we are on a first term basis) said that it was new.

Kristin Chenoweth wins for Pushing Daisies! She was super cute and crying and had one of the best lines of the night: "I'm unemployed now, so I'd like to be on Mad Men. I also like the Office and 24."


John Hodgeman (who I know from the Daily Show, but I suppose has been in other things) was the announcer. He made up facts about the winners, which I appreciated.

Then Justin Timberlake (wtf?) was there and made a stupid Kanye joke.

And some other people won that I didn't really care about. (Jim Parsons should have won. Neil Patrick Harris should have won. I'm bored with 30 Rock winning.)

There were dancers in ugly outfits.

THEN THE BEST THING HAPPENED:


And then the show went on longer. Neil was very charming, but they had too many cliched jokes in the script.

There was a sad song and pictures of dead people.

Then, just as Moi and I were getting nervous that we were going to miss the repeat of the new Mad Men episode, Mad Men won Best Drama and the show was over!
