Mend

I have a problem that I'm hoping someone will know the answer to, considering you are all bibliophiles like me. I have a hardcover book which I re-read quite often and when I was doing so this weekend, I noticed that the binding is breaking. As in, it has ripped so that I can see through it to the cover. This has happened in about three separate places, and one of them is barely holding on, to the point that if it rips, the book will be in two pieces. How do I fix this? Is there a kit I can buy with special glue and do this myself or will I have to take it to some sort of specialist book doctor to repair it? I know nothing about this, but figure that all of you may know something.

2 made a huge mistake.:

Oh no! That is a very sad story! Poor book! Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix a book, but I know I've heard of people rebinding books. I think you would have to send it somewhere and they can fix it, but you would end up with a new cover.

Good luck!

Lucky you! I have an endless supply of book glue! And knowledge.
