A Woman Doctor?!?!

Moi told me that I had not updated in some time and that I should do it now. I've been meaning to update about my trip to Italy with photos, but all the photos are on the CDs that my mother is toting around to show people (my family is so technologically advanced, we don't even *print* our pictures out anymore ... or we are just lazy) so I can't get to them while I'm in EL. Suffice it to say that the trip was very fun and I wish I was still there. I really enjoyed Venice and I really enjoyed having a little cappuccino every morning and eating mushrooms and prosciutto and grilled tomatoes for breakfast and staying in a hotel with turn down service every night and watching all three Godfather movies (IN ITALY! It was kismet!) on an Arab network and eating gelato at 11pm while walking in the Piazza San Marco and getting our own cabana when we went to Lido and shopping at all the sales and faking that I spoke Italian so well that someone answered me in Italian so that all I could do was smile and walk away and getting lost in Venice and riding around in a water taxi and eating clams and mussels and drinking wine with my mother and taking the train around Italy and eating nutella.

Things I did not like: returning to the United States.

So now I'm back in EL. I'm still working on my externship, but I only have 5 days left, yay! I started my new job last week. It's at a law firm near here and I'm basically scanning and electronically storing all their case files. It's not a hard job at all, but it pays. And that's a very good thing right now. Plus, the guy who is training me said that they interviewed lots of people, so it makes me feel a bit better that I was chosen. I'm having a few self-esteem issues right now, so that helped. I have training again tomorrow, but then I think that I can begin to set my own hours. Believe me, they will no longer be Friday mornings at 8am.

School starts in 22 days. Yuck.

The best thing I learned today: EVERY episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is on Youtube. Even the made-for-TV movies. Hooray!
