Kvetching

Today (yesterday, whatever) my family celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday. It wasn't nearly as awkward as I was expecting, although my family was the first to leave. I got to chat with all of my cousins (who are pretty much all taller than me now), we had really good food for dinner, and my grandmother, despite all her protestations against having a party, had a really nice time. I'm really trying to make an effort to enjoy myself at these family gatherings because a) my grandparents are not getting any younger, and my grandmother's memory is definitely disappearing and b) when both my grandparents die, I don't think my family will get together like this anymore thanks to petty feuds, jealousy, and all-around selfishness.

Oh, families.

Sleepygirl, I'm so pissed the Gaga tickets are sold out. Apparently, they sold out minutes after they went on sale. Even for the third show that was added on the weekend we wanted to go. I'm upset at myself for not being more on top of things and I'm mad that I can find lots of tickets for the shows we wanted on Ebay. For $400. Um, yeah. I'm not going to pay that much for a ticket that was originally $37.50. I'd rather get drunk and go to a karaoke bar and sing Lady Gaga's songs myself.

I'm starting to feel sick. My throat is starting to hurt. Thanks, Lil Bro.
