What I did find disappointing however, is that in a country where 12% of the population speaks Spanish, CNN does not seem to have an anchor who speaks Spanish well enough to properly pronounce the miners' names or even "Chile" correctly. It's just sad.
Today, I did two other things that I wanted to cry about, but not out of happiness.
- I took my official graduation picture. This is the one that goes on the "Class of XXXX" poster and stays at the school forever. I had 7 chances and I quite literally hated every one of the photos I took. Ugh. Now, I only took the photo today even though I am not graduating until May because there is a chance I will not be here for spring semester so we got to take pictures early. You can bet that if I am here for spring semester, I will definitely be demanding retakes.
- I shopped for health insurance today since I will not have any as of the end of this month. I need a policy for two months to bridge the gap until I can be added to my mom's health insurance (yay health care law!) Since I am poor, I have to get a cheap policy. It's basically a policy that will really only be a benefit to me in case of catastrophe; any other (normal) costs I will have to cover myself: doctor's visits, prescriptions, etc. So, when I went and had a prescription filled today, I asked the pharmacist what the actual price of the face cream is, since I only had a $15 co-pay. The actual cost of my prescription face cream? $257. Yeah. I nearly fell over. And there's no generic version. Great.
