Hi Ya'll! (I have a roommate from Georgia and have met a number of people from Mississippi and I'm beginning to do that thing where I am talking to them and I suddenly start trying to speak in their accent and it's becoming really annoying and embarrassing because I don't want them to think I am mocking them when all that is really happening is that I have some sort of disease that forces me to speak in different accents.) I have now been in DC for 6 days. I have walked around a lot, and met a lot of really nice people, and spent too much money, and seen lots of monuments, and rode the Metro many times, and have had my travel plans screwed up because of the investigation of "suspicious packages" twice, and helped throw a party, and helped clean up after the party, and realized there is no grocery store by me, and eaten at a Top Chef contestant's restaurant, and talked politics with poli-sci kids, and discussed current events and the Sudan vote, and taken pictures of the Capitol during the day and night, and made plans to do a million more things over the next four months.
I'm having a pretty good time here. I miss you all like whoa.
More tomorrow. I swear. I am just whipped at the moment and have to get up in 5 hours and 45 minutes.

2 made a huge mistake.:
I sympathize, as you well know, with the Accent Disease.
How was the restaurant?
It was pretty delicious. It is called The Good Stuff. It is however, as I'm learning everything in DC is, pretty expensive for a burger place.
