Oi

So, I saw the finale of Doctor Who, Journey's End. I know some of you haven't seen it yet (Lil Sis) and don't want it spoiled, so skip this!

Well, it wasn't as bad as last years. Plot-wise, it's all sci-fi, so they are allowed to make up as much stupid stuff as they want - I won't pay much attention to it. Villains were evil, Daleks were Daleks, and the Earth was put back in its place (literally) at the end.

Rose was there, but I thought that she didn't really do anything. Nothing. Stood around and asked questions to help with the exposition. Boring. And then at the end, the return to Bad Wolf Bay, even I (who love the Doctor and Rose forever) felt that the scene was a total and complete cop-out. I read this comment somewhere else and this is exactly what I thought during the scene: To me, the Bad Wolf Bay scene read like this: Rose: So you want me to stay here with New Ten who you hate? Even though you’ve spent two seasons moping all about how you missed me? Now that you could have me back, you’d rather stick me here to clean up the mess you made when you regenerated yourself twice for no real reason? This is what you think the happy ending is going to be? Lame.

Martha was there. Boo. Boring and didn't do much. Jack also didn't do much. Neither did Sarah-Jane (although she brought K-9 into the picture again) or the Torchwood team. Mickey (whom I love) and Jackie were back as well but they also didn't do much. This whole episode suffered from WAY too many people in the cast.

And finally Donna. Who was awesome. And who I will miss the most. And who should have gotten a better ending then, "Thanks for being awesome, back to being a temp now." By FAR, my favorite scenes of the entire episode involved Catherine Tate and David Tennant. They were so good.

I was spoiled for the no regeneration (there are pictures of David Tennant filming the Christmas episode from months ago, so I knew that wasn't going to happen), that there would be two Doctors, and that Donna was either going to die or lose her memories. And I had hoped that the last one was a foiler so that nothing like that was going to happen. Stupid show.

But I feel totally let down. All I learned is that if you rise from being a temp to being the most important person in the entire universe (half Time-Lord, for goodness sake), too bad for you and here's your parting gift: no memories of it ever happening.

No, I'm not bitter. Ok, I am. Hopefully, I'll be over it be Christmas.

ETA: This is more for me. I want to be able to find this Confidential easily!

Also, if anyone has Girls and Boys in Love by the Rumble Strips....GIVE IT TO ME!

4 made a huge mistake.:

Seriously.
"Don't worry about her thinking she's worthless and brainless and living a pointless life (all of which are, you know, her worst fears ever), because somewhere out there, the Ood are singing songs about her."
Does he honestly think that will help!?
Did Rose teach him *nothing* about human emotions, or did they all get siphoned off to Blue Suit, leaving him with nothing but idiotic cruelty?
Or did he decide that since he's got some sort of hot hot lover off in the future, he doesn't need to keep his companions around anymore?
Honestly....

Oh, and I replied to yours on mine. Longest comment EVAH.

The DoctorDonna!!! I thought that was such a good callback!

You know what would be better? - if she got to live a better life be traveling with the Doctor!!!!

Oh, and sleepygirl, when you reference hot hot lovers in the Doctor's future, you better be talking about me and not that dang River Song. Who was ok for an episode, if she wouldn't have been so concerned with spoilers the entire time.

Don't you think River Song (Wow... I never realized how hippie!tastic that name was until just now...) was mostly just horrific?
Not her, exactly, I liked her, and she was all balls to the walls and didn't let the Doctor get away with anything (like, oh, hang on, DONNA!) but the idea that the Doctor is going to have to know for the rest of his life until after the fact that he's going to fall in love, get... married?..., and then know the EXACT TIME when his lover is going to die/be put into a computer, which frankly doesn't seem much better, and also wouldn't it be better to go to, like, heaven? I'm just saying.

Also, the word verification today is "spppqnpq." Fun times!
