Dear Bill Gates,
Please create a system that won't ever fail so I won't have to do this anymore.
Thanks,
me
For me, there is nothing more terrifying than wiping down my hard drive to start over. The question currently facing me: Do you want to restore your computer to its original factory condition?
. . .
Yes, if it will work again.
Gah. Pressing this button is scary.
ETA at 8:00pm: Have successfully restored Vista. But, ack! gag! blah! at all the crap that was first on my computer when I bought it. Trials for Vongo and AOL! Icons for easy access to Ebay and Vonage! More HP crap then one could ever use. I have to un-install all of this and then re-install my anti-virus and spyware subscriptions, Office 07, and then I can start in on the programs I really use: iTunes, Firefox, utorrent. At least I can get homework done while I'm waiting.
ETA2 at 11:30pm: Finally cleaned off all unwanted clutter. I managed to re-install Firefox, iTunes, and Spy Sweeper before my wireless wouldn't connect anymore. Not worried about it, considering that the signal is pretty weak. If I have to, I can go to Panera tomorrow and connect there. The best part is that I was able to upload my Itunes library from my fancy new external hard drive and thus, UPDATE my Ipod! Hooray! Dwigt has new tunes!

2 made a huge mistake.:
Good luck!
My comp is having a meltdown too -- WHY GOD WHY!?
At least you were brave enough to wipe the hard drive; I don't think I could have.
