The Westboro Baptist Church will be protesting at various locations around the state on Thursday, including the high school in this area. Not one to pass up a chance to try and grow our little law school program by generating controversy, the law school has organized a panel with one of the Phelps (most of them are lawyers, actually) and some other people to discuss the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech. I am upset about this. Not because I don't despise the Phelps family and all that they stand for (because I do) and not because I am required to carry my Law School ID with me on Thursday since there will be various security posted around the building (which will be annoying when I am trying to get to class) but mostly because I am 99.9% positive that parking in the parking garage next to the law school is going to be RIDICULOUS. And I don't really want to deal with that.
