Mellifluous

I love the background music in movies. The score, if you will (although I'm not really sure that I'm using that word correctly and I'm too lazy to look up the definition right now.) And some of my favorite movie soundtracks are the Harry Potter ones. My absolute favorite song (so far) is titled "Harry & Hermione" from Half Blood Prince.

It plays during the scene where Hermione is mad at Ron for kissing Lavender and Harry comforts her. I think it's just a gorgeous, gorgeous piece of music.

Anyway, the soundtrack for Deathly Hallows, Part 1 has leaked, so I've been listening to it for most of the day. The composer is Alexandre Desplat (a Frenchman!) who also worked on The Queen, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Julie & Julia, and the Fantastic Mr. Fox as well as number of French films. I'm excited to see some of the songs in context in the movie, although I am a little concerned because the songs appear to go in order [I wasn't sure if anyone is trying to be unspoiled, so you have to highlight if you want to read the next part] but song #9 is entitled "Dobby" whereas song #10 is entitled "Ministry of Magic". WTF. Dobby is not supposed to show up until Malfoy Manor which is at the END of this movie. I feel like this song is supposed to be named "Kreacher". I mean, what's the point of making TWO movies if you aren't even going to tell the story correctly?!

Some of my favorites so far are "Obliviate" (embedded below), "The Locket", "Godric's Hollow Graveyard" and "Lovegood".

0 made a huge mistake.:
