A 5 Pound Bag for 10 Pounds of Junk

Sad news. My messenger bag has a hole in it. The hole is about 1 inch. Along the seam of the bag, near to where the strap begins. I'm afraid it's going to keep ripping (especially since I carry about 15-20 pounds daily in it) and then BAM! all my stuff spills all over the elevator or the parking garage or (heaven forbid) a classroom during class.

So, now a conundrum. Do I buy another messenger bag? Do I buy a backpack? Do I buy a nice, large purse in which I can carry a law textbook and a laptop? Do I use my laptop bag and then carry a separate purse with my textbook in it? Choices, choices.

Aww. I had that bag for 9 years. They don't even make them in this color anymore!

2 made a huge mistake.:

Yes, I think you should get a new bag. This definitely happened to me where the strap broke but it was on a much cheaper messenger bag. Luckily I was able to save it so everything didn't spill everywhere. Unfortunately I'm not sure how well you would be able to save yours with everything you put in that bag.
I would say go with another messenger bag but a size lower than you had. I think it will look less bulky and maybe you'll learn to carry less stuff! But if you want to go different, I like the idea of a large purse for your textbook, like that huge black one you already have, and then your laptop bag.

They have these backpacks with wheels that you can pull. I think you should get one of those.
