So I took a vacation this past weekend and it was wonderful. Spent most of the time on the beach, swimming and playing with the dog, and had a really nice time. We also went canoeing and I am happy to inform you that Lil Sis and I decided we are SO good at it, we are going to try out for the Olympics in 2012. London - Awesome.
It was really crappy getting up early and coming into work yesterday, but, ya know, paycheck and all of that. I was still pretty peppy, but it's getting hard to maintain that kind of attitude around here when AK is depressed all the time. Not that I blame her, of course, but I am running out of ways to cheer her up. The only thing that helped yesterday was having a vodka on the rocks at lunch. It's just so hard to deal with her being peppy and then getting a phone call and breaking down into tears. And I feel really terrible complaining about it because I know that she is going through a hard time......but.
In addition to writing my own recommendation letter, I was also informed that I have to write up a job description so they can (maybe) hire someone else. FYI: THIS IS SO HARD. I feel as though CD 200 failed me. We NEVER covered writing your own recommendation letter or how to write a job description. Stupid brown paper bag project.
Oh, as an aside, I feel as though I knew this at some point but cannot remember. Rachel, do you know if there is an admissions rep leaving?
I had to go to a super special dinner last night with Lil Sis and Moi. It was fun in that, sit-through-an-hour-lecture-with-a-special-side-of-public-humiliation, kind of way. Although you can't argue with the "goody bags" they give away at the end. The one, ok two, things I learned from all of this? 1. Undergrads who think they are the shit should never be with within 10 feet of me. 2. Apparently the IRS is hiring. I sat through a 30 minute recruitment session on it. Too bad the job sounds hella boring.
I move into my new apartment this weekend, but due to my ability to procrastinate in EVERY area of my life, I have no idea what furniture I am bringing/need. Things should get interesting Friday night/Saturday morning. Also, I am unsure how to survive without either cable or internet and I don't think I will have either in my new apartment until late next week. Panera, here I come!
Finally, another question. When I moved into my apartment, the girl before me had one of those Venus razors with the case that you can stick onto the bathtub. She left part of the case (it's just a little square, about 1 inch around) stuck to the bathtub because she could not get it off. It never bothered me at all, but I'm thinking I might have to take it off when I move out. I never filled out one of those "damage charts" or whatever when I moved in because they just handed me the keys and told me I was fine, but I think I was supposed to. So, bottom line: does anyone have any idea how to get it off? It's stuck on there pretty good, but I can't imagine that it's anything more than those sticky pads you put on the pack of those 3M hooks. Ideas?

6 made a huge mistake.:
Goo Gone.
Multiple applications of Goo Gone.
SERIOUSLY? I can't even edit MY OWN comments?
As I was saying,
Worked like a charm. You are such a genius. :)
One of the adm peeps is taking Erika's job since she's leaving. So they have to replace that person who is replacing Erika. I have yet to find out which one it is but I'm hoping it is not RG. Because she drives me insane.
Boo for full of themselves undergrads. Yay for free A's, but boo on paper bag not having a deeper lesson to prepare us. Boo for moving furniture...
In other news, did you know past year's winner of the Bukowski Award is now a youth minister in Grand Haven? Seems like an anti-climax to me, but fitting for her, I suppose.
o Rachel. For your sake I hope that it is not RG. I always thought she hated me - we worked one weekend together and she made me get her coffee.
Why don't they just hire someone new or promote TB?
