The thing about living by myself (and without a dishwasher) is that I loathe to cook in my apartment. All the recipes I know make WAY more food than one person can eat (I'd be eating leftovers for the next 3 meals) and anything I cook means that I have to spend time washing and drying dishes. So, I just avoid cooking. Of course, the problem with this is that I lack basic kitchen ingredients. Sugar, flour, spices, eggs, peanut butter, jelly, etc.; I don't keep any of it in my pantry.
So, there's always that moment when I decide to make something and then realize I am lacking an essential part of it. For example, I have pancakes. Yum. Delicious. Delectable.
Problem: no syrup.
Calling on all my MacGyver-like skills, I went through my entire pantry. I've got honey, sweet and sour sauce, chocolate syrup, raspberry vinaigrette, but no syrup.
So, I put Nutella on the pancakes instead. Problem solved.

1 made a huge mistake.:
We were meant to be friends. Just saying.
