This will be a long, rambling post in which I talk a little bit about a lot of things that have been happening to me.
I took my first exam today. Thank goodness to get one out of the way. It wasn't horrible, but I didn't feel spectacular about it (what else is new?) My next one is Monday, then Friday, then Monday again and then a week after that I have a paper due. (This is the never-ending semester.) Afterward, I went and bought a prep book for my exam next Friday and Jimmy John's and came home and slept for 4 hours. I finally woke up because it's a billion degrees in my apartment and I was going to suffocate from the oppressive heat. Which is really an unpleasant way to wake up. Now, I'm watching "What a Girl Wants", which remains on top of my list of Best Teen Rom Coms Ever Made, as well as on top of my list of Colin Firth Movies I've Seen the Most.
On Monday, I went to the dermatologist. The dermatologist is my new favorite medical appointment ever since I switched dentists and my new dentist is a sadist. At the dermatologist they are always very nice to me and never chastise me even when I admit that I don't always wash my face everyday at the proper times. But, my favorite part is that for every question I ask them, they have an answer AND give me samples! It's a grown-up goody bag! For instance, this time, I left with a prescription for the face creme that had worked well for me (based on a sample I had received from a previous visit) and I got samples of soap for sensitive skin, body wash for sensitive skin, and tinted moisturizers with sunscreen. It is really helping me cut down on my beauty product spending.
On Wednesday I went to work and fielded calls from clients about how they couldn't access our new website. The number of people whom I had to instruct on how to set-up a password is just appalling. The interesting part of my day, however, was when one of the attorneys asked me if I would be interested in becoming an associate at the law firm when I graduate. And not in a a joking, hahaha-sort of way, an actual proper, come-into-the-office-and-shut-the-door-behind-you type of conversation. So, it was kinda like a job offer, but a year in advance. I was taken completely off guard and babbled something about how I would consider it. But, it again raises a conundrum for me: get a decent paying job right out of graduation, but still be in Michigan and have it no really be the job I want or, have to job search and probably be unemployed for awhile, but be able to leave Michigan and look for a job I want. Hmmmmmmm.
Last night as I was trying to cut my 3 page outline down to 2 pages at 2:30am, the power went out. Flickered came back and then went out again. I was panicked. There is nothing more terrifying than working on a computer and the power goes out and all you can think about is how your laptop battery is notoriously unreliable. However, I was able to use my flashlight (the one with the little flashing LED on it to help me find it in the dark) to read my notes in the dark. It brought back memories of being a child and reading a book in my bed under the covers so my parents wouldn't know I was still up.
Aussie, thanks for your card. I had myself convinced that I had texted you to say thanks, but since I couldn't find the that text in my "Sent" folder, I must have dreamed it. It was such a realistic dream.
Three exams and one paper to go. I hope I can survive it.

1 made a huge mistake.:
No text, but welcomes! I distinctly remembering hating exams. . .but you're almost there. Also, boo on Michigan. I need to escape.
