Plus Heureuse que Les Blues

Two weeks ago, I turned in my Notice to Vacate for my apartment. I had no other place lined up and my parents were freaking out. But I couldn't stay here.

I did a little research on where to move to. I want to stay on my bus route so that really narrowed my options. I went to talk to some people, but no one really had any one bedrooms or studios (This was as I expected. Renewal deals begin appearing in this town around October, so many, many people have already signed a lease.) I wasn't really worried though. Somehow, I knew good things would happen.

Later, I got a lead from one of the places I went to talk to. They had someone who was probably going to move from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom apartment. A free one-bedroom!

I went and looked at it and signed the lease the same day. Perfect. The whole thing took two weeks. Easy-peasy.

I will now be living here, Burnt Tree Apartments. (Yeah, I know, Hidden Tree Apartments to Burnt Tree Apartments? Lame.) I'll be on the ground/basement-ish floor, which wouldn't have been my preference, but it is the cheapest. AND! IT! HAS! A! DISHWASHER!!!!!!

So, now I have to prepare to move. This is the part I am dreading more than actually finding another apartment. And, since I am a genius of scheduling, I am moving the day before I leave for London. I can't move after I get back, because my current lease is up on the day I return. Ugh.

The World Cup is killing my productivity at work. I've been listening to the games while researching, but when the games get exciting, I have to switch over to the ESPN.com website to read the updates (which are faster than the radio broadcast.) The next thing I know, an entire hour has gone by and I've gotten nothing done. So, Team USA, get it together. Please score early and often, so I'm not biting my nails and then stifling my screams of joy when you finally pull off the win. Thanks.
