Dear Person who is a scanner at work and trained me to be a scanner, but who is now slightly less important than me because now I am a law clerk and work 40 hours a week, but I mean only slightly less important because now I have more responsibilities and stuff, not that I am trying to be elitist or anything,

Please stop coming and standing by my desk and waiting for me to talk to you. I already went back to the little closet where the scanners sit and chatted with you for 15 minutes to stave off you coming by my desk and standing there. Please take a hint. I am tired today and don't feel like dealing with you. Especially because ALL of the attorneys are in the office and I don't think they would appreciate you standing around chatting about how much you hate your father-in-law. I am especially not going to gossip about the attorneys when they are having a meeting in the conference room RIGHT NEXT to where I sit because the walls and the doors are thin and sound carries. Duh.

Finally, I made a polite effort to let you know that I was not going to chat with you when I picked up my phone and dialed my voice mail, even though I knew that I had no messages. I can't believe you continued to stand there until I hung up the phone. I listened to the options of my inbox for FIVE MINUTES.

So, yeah, I was acting bitchy. Thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps you should have taken the hint and gone away.
